International Women's Day 2026 - what an extraordinary event!

More than 80 engaged attendees – donors, sector partners and community advocates – joined us with genuine energy and commitment to creating safer futures.

We were honoured to have Jane Gilmore as our keynote speaker, whose powerful insights reinforced the importance of uniting prevention and response efforts — and how partnerships make this work stronger. Her message resonated deeply across the room and set the tone for meaningful reflection and action.

Another highlight of the evening was hearing Geraldine Bilston, CEO Kara in conversation with Kit McMahon CEO WHISE, exploring how response and prevention MUST WORK SIDE BY SIDE to create real, sustainable change. From Geraldine,

“When we have a society that publicly disrespects and devalues women, then we create the conditions for the abuse of power and control to flourish privately at home.”

The feedback from attendees has been overwhelmingly positive, excited, hopeful and deeply encouraging.

Thank you to everyone who shared their congratulations and support.

Our deep gratitude and thanks to Women's Health in the South East for partnering with us. Together, we are building momentum, driving change and championing safety for all women and children. What a truly wonderful evening.💜
